With the power given to you from above, he proclaimed the future, contemplating it as the present, and predicted victory for the Grand Duke Dmitry [Donskoy] over the numerous proud Hagarians, who wanted to devastate Russia with fire and sword, and from his monastic brethren he gave two monks to help the army, and calling on God with your holy prayer, created victory over the Hagarians. Glorifying you for this, and asking for the same help for the Orthodox army over your opponents, we cry out to God: Alleluia.
Reflecting on your threefold proclamation from your mother’s womb in the temple, your parents and [all] people realized that something glorious and wonderful had happened: and after learning about your joyful birth, they rejoiced, bringing you joy, exclaiming:

The Russian state remembers and proclaims your labors and hardships, you Godly Sergius, as you accepted vigil and strict fasting for the salvation of your soul, for the sake of which the Lord glorified you with His Divine glory. Thus, you appeared in the Church, like in a Garden of Eden, having the Lord Himself as the Tree of Life, from which all who have tasted everything that is perishable in this world despise and joyfully enter the beautiful garden above, where you, standing before Him, cry out: Alleluia.
The light of your perfect virtues has shone upon the Church and our Russian country, Rev. Father Sergius, and, thanking the Heavenly Father, who has given you such grace of His greatness, to you, our ardent petitioner, we joyfully sing thus:

Rejoice, a fasting man, who served God from his youth.
Rejoice, Sergius, quick helper and glorious wonderworker!
Wanting to make yourself the chosen home of the Holy Spirit, you set out to walk the narrow and sorrowful path, taking the Cross of Christ on your shoulders, on which path, by the grace of God, from your youth, having fulfilled the commandments of the Lord immaculately, you have achieved the reward prepared for you in your heavenly joyful stay, and there you sing gratefully to God: Alleluia.
The Creator and Lord of all, the godly Sergius, showed anew His grace through you: even if you died on earth in flesh, but in soul in the higher abode you are always alive, performing many glorious miracles in the world for the sake of living people, and with your ardent intercession you help those who call on you so:

A strange and wondrous miracle, God-wise Sergius, is revealed to those who come to you: for with the grace of God given to you through faith you immediately heal those who ask from all manifold bodily and mental sorrows, deliver them from troubles, save them from misfortunes, and fulfill every beneficial request of everyone and cry out to God: Alleluia.
You, Reverend Father Sergius, abide in the highest, but you do not abandon the earthly things either: you reign forever with Christ the Eternal King, and you remember us, unworthy sinners, before Him, praying for our salvation. Therefore, we earnestly appeal to you like this:
Rejoice, you who left everything you had and loved the poverty of Christ;
Rejoice, you who have come to inexhaustible wealth.

Rejoice, thou who was vouchsafed there to partake of the invisible food;
Rejoice, you who have been worthy of this bliss from God forever.
Rejoice, Sergius, quick helper and glorious wonderworker!
All the hosts of angels were surprised at the great gift given to you from above, for you showed immaterial life on earth, and lived in the flesh as if you were incorporeal. Therefore, having received from the Lord [the gift of] creating many miracles, your pure and God-loving soul is counted, by His mercy, among the Heavenly powers, and in Heaven you now sing to the omnipotent God: Alleluia.
Eloquent rhetoricians cannot worthily glorify you, worthy of all glory, glorious Reverend Father Sergius, for you [not only] showed many supernatural glorious miracles during your lifetime, but even after death, by the grace of God, you do not cease to perform them. We, filled with love, dare to sing to you like this:
Rejoice, earthly angel and heavenly man;
Rejoice, thou who lived spiritually in the flesh, and heavenly on earth.
Rejoice, who dwelled in humanity like an angel, in the world like not belonging to the world;
Rejoice, having always contemplated the Lord with your spiritual gaze.
Rejoice, before the face of God, as the Lord’s servant having walked;
Rejoice, you who walked before Him, like a son before the Father, like a disciple before the Teacher.
Rejoice, like a warrior before the Commander, ready to carry out the order;
Rejoice, good mentor and steward of your monastic flock.
Rejoice, you who ascended from strength to strength, until the God of gods appeared to you in Zion;
Rejoice, thou who loved the One Lord and looked upon Him unceasingly.
Rejoice, you who have sought Him all your life and have placed your whole hope in Him;
Rejoice, you who did not want to see anything but Jesus Christ in heaven and on earth.
Rejoice, Sergius, quick helper and glorious wonderworker!
Desiring to save your soul, at a young age you renounced your will, and as a sign of cutting it off, you cut the hair off of your head, and was a monk who submitted himself to the will of God and to the rulers appointed by Him, to whose commands you were as obedient as to the Lord Himself, never contradicting, but responding with deeds to the word of command. You gratefully accepted all kinds of adversity, like a faithful servant, from the Lord, to Whom now, standing in heaven, you sing: Alleluia.
You are the support of all people who resort to your intercession, Reverend God-wise Sergius. And for us, who come to you for your merciful intercession in all kinds of needs from the King of Heaven, be a strong wall and an impregnable fence, protecting and defending us from all troubles and misfortunes, for which we cry to you like this:
Rejoice, warrior of the Heavenly King, not bound by worldly affairs in order to be pleasing to Him;
Rejoice, you who did not wish to serve two masters, God and the world, but only the One God.
Rejoice, having armed yourself from your youth against your body, this world and the devil;
Rejoice, having mortified your flesh by fasting, bowing, standing in prayer and vigil.
Rejoice, you who put it [flesh] to death before its passions revived;
Rejoice, you who made the palate dead to eating sweets.
Rejoice, you who have made the tongue dead to bad words, slander and lies;
Rejoice, who made the ears dead to hearing everything harmful to the soul.
Rejoice, you who made your hands dead to theft and all evil deeds;
Rejoice, you who made the belly dead to gluttony and drunkenness.
Rejoice, who through your labors made the loins dead to uncleanness;
Rejoice, who made the feet dead to walking in the ways of sinners and in the counsel of the wicked.
Rejoice, Sergius, quick helper and glorious wonderworker!
Glorifying you, oh Reverend Father, all Orthodox Christians sing a song of thanksgiving to the giver of blessings, Jesus Christ, for He has given you the power to perform many miracles: to open the eyes of the blind, to cleanse the lepers, to heal the sick, to free the possessed from the devil’s vexation; a power so great that even those not yet brought to you, even on the road, the demons left and did not return again, fearing the power of God in your face, glorifying it forever in heaven, you cry out to God: Alleluia.
As a luminous luminary, shining in the Russian state and throughout the entire universe with the enlightening grace of the unfading Sun, Jesus Christ, we see you, God-wise Father: you are filled with great joy, with incorporeal powers on high standing before the Throne of the Most Holy Trinity, and immersed in the radiance of the Divine rays of the Trisolar Light, you illuminate the faithful who call upon you like this:
Rejoice, you who have ascended the highest mountain of divine virtues;
Rejoice, for from there you ascended the mountain of heaven without hindrance.
Rejoice, for from the earthly abode you have entered into the heavenly abode;
Rejoice, for, ascending into it with your soul, you left us your holy help.
Rejoice, for your relics heal all sorrows and illnesses;
Rejoice, for the demons tremble at your relics.
Rejoice, for your relics are a consolation to everyone in adversity;
Rejoice, you who have ascended with your soul to the Highest Zion, to the King of Heaven.
Rejoice, for as you stand there, you earnestly pray to Him for everyone;
Rejoice, for you propitiate His goodness for all who honor your memory.
Rejoice, as [you] bring victory to our country over our enemies through your prayer;
Rejoice, as [you] fulfill every request of the faithful for their benefit.
Rejoice, Sergius, quick helper and glorious wonderworker!
Knowing about the grace given to you by God, we diligently ask you, our ever-merciful father: now pour out your fervent prayer for us, sinners, to the Lord, so that, having forgiven all our sins, He will grant us victories over our enemies, like to Emperor Constantine over Maxentius, like to David over Goliath; may he strengthen the Russian state, may he preserve his Holy Church from strife and schisms unshakable, may he bestow an abundance of all fruits of the earth, and may he save and have mercy on all Orthodox Christians; expecting to receive this from Him, through your prayers, we cry to Him: Alleluia.
Glorifying the wondrous Heavenly King in His saints, who glorified you, His faithful servant Sergius, we glorify your merciful help to us in all our needs and sorrows, for in you our God, glorified in the Trinity, was wondrously glorified by many glorious miracles; thus marveling, we cry to you like this:
Rejoice, our glorious Russian intercessor, Father Sergius;
Rejoice, man perfect in virtues.
Rejoice, wondrous imitator of the perfection of our Heavenly Father;
Rejoice, most kind and mild teacher of monks.
Rejoice, example to the desert dwellers and organizer of coenobitic life;
Rejoice, quick helper and intercessor to all Orthodox.
Rejoice, famous propitiator of the Heavenly King and God;
Rejoice, who many times anticipated people’s petitions in your intercession.
Rejoice, a protective covering created by God, with which many are covered;
Rejoice, having inspired the lazy to accomplish feats by your Christ-like character.
Rejoice, all-bright radiance of the beautiful light of the Gospel;
Rejoice, eternally enlightening illumination of the Trisolar Trinity Light.
Rejoice, Sergius, quick helper and glorious wonderworker!
O glorious wonderworker and our quick and wondrous intercessor in all troubles and sorrows, God-wise Father Sergius! Accept our present [prayer] offering and, through your godly intercession, beg the Lord of strength to give strength from above to our Orthodox army against our enemies, and to all of us, who have been cleansed by His grace, an escape from Gehenna and an acquisition of good future in Heaven, calling to Him: Alleluia.
(Repeat the above Kontakion 13, 3 times)
